Who is Grace Discipleship for?

After twelve years in youth ministry and five years offering one-on-one discipleship care, I’ve seen first hand how when young people have questions, problems, or doubts, they don’t always feel comfortable going to their pastor’s office and they can’t afford a counselor's office. As a result, they are unsure of exactly where to go for spiritual perspective and practical direction for everyday life.

After the pandemic and in the midst of a heightened political culture, so many Christians have unanswered questions about faith, church and family. Discipleship care/ spiritual direction offers a kind of companionship as both people seek the direction of the Holy Spirit.

While I often link arms with other area pastors and counselors, I also hold space for those in the middle, existing to care for and disciple young people toward a deeper and daily life with Jesus Christ.

What is discipleship care?

God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever.

The impact of the gospel toward this next generation will be through one-on-one relating.
